Dr Kumar says: "It's often thought that this is just mysticism or this is just spirituality but what I want to show is that I don't think there's a real divide between spirituality and science and practical experience... When we note that in science, the subjective lens that we use to look at the world, is just as important as the thing that we're looking at... that's so critical... I think especially being in emergency medicine and being an emergency doctor, I feel like I have a responsibility honestly...because a lot of suffering in this world, including [with] my patients -- I think it's because we're given such small stories about who we are and what this world is..."
